Over the last six years, I have served as a substance use disorder counselor and a mental health counselor for different non-profit agencies. I have gained valuable experience working with underserved populations providing case management, individual therapy, group therapy, and conducting assessments. I have worked with all age groups including children, adolescents, adults and older adults which has given me a well rounded clinical perspective on how co-occurring disorders impact the lives of people in our communities. I have a masters degree in addiction counseling and I will be receiving another master's in marriage and family therapy to pursue licensure as a therapist. I have enjoyed serving my community and time to individuals who have struggled to find their place in this world. It has been a challenging but rewarding journey working as a counselor. The work I would like to transition into focusing on as a therapist, include psychedelic assisted therapy, working with couples, and utilizing reiki and psychotherapy to provide a holistic approach.
