As a rising senior at Johns Hopkins University majoring in public health with a pre-physician assistant track, I leverage my academic background and hands-on experience to contribute to public health and healthcare research. With extensive experience in various research roles and volunteer positions, I have developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving, which I apply to complex public health projects. Some of my achievements include conducting in-depth research on socio-economic and cultural metrics among Latinx communities using applications like WelTel to enhance data collection and follow- up survey completion rates. I have also developed proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, enabling me to analyze and interpret data effectively and contribute to the advancement of infectious disease research. I am passionate about supporting underserved communities and serve as an Advising Fellow for Matriculate, where I mentor high-achieving, low-income high school students, providing comprehensive guidance on college applications, essay writing, and financial aid processes to help them make informed educational decisions. Also, I have volunteered at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, fostering improved patient-provider communication and gaining firsthand clinical experience by assisting in physical examinations and minor procedures, which has deepened my understanding of patient care and healthcare operations. I am eager to take on new challenges that align with my values and goals, optimizing healthcare operations and systems through data-driven strategies. Leveraging my skills and experiences have allowed me to make a meaningful impact in public health and contribute to the betterment of underserved communities.
