Responsible for signal research and managing the EM & European Quantitative Equity funds as part of a team to achieve return targets within specified risk parameters. Developed new alpha signals for both the stat-arb mid frequency (5-10 day holding period) and the low frequency (average 2-month holding period) strategies. Mid-frequency alpha signals designed to exploit short-lived strong anomalies and only used in the stat-arb mid-horizon hedge fund (European component of 32Cap and Eos hedge funds). The mid-horizon hedge fund achieved sharpe ratios > 2 between 2006 and 2009 with NAV between $50 and $250M USD. Lower frequency alpha signals developed were used in both low-frequency hedge funds and long-only active funds. Include broad insights within value, quality, momentum and sentiment that drive long-term stock returns. Took the lead role in the development of our Eastern Europe Emerging markets market neutral strategy. Configured return and risk targets and gearing levels. Optimized and backtested strategy. Also coordinated our efforts to set up the fund operations including prime broker, risk, legal and custodian set up.
