After graduating from South China University of Technology, I worked at HSBC Electronic Data Processing (Guangdong) Limited. The management experience shaped my character of perseverance. I was a team manager from June 2020 to June 2023. This period was the most challenging time due to Covid-19 and the associated restrictions in China. Firstly, we had to change from in-office work to remote work. Secondly, the bank’s in-person services had to turn to online services. Thirdly, employees not only had to acquire additional skills but also needed to adapt to rotating shifts. All these transitions presented immense challenges to me, including implementing the changes in my team, addressing employee resistance, and managing the team’s business performance. I was often exhausted by the evolving demands of both upper management and employees, but I never gave up. In addition to the standard procedures, I took various actions to achieve the business goals, including conducting skill training, random quality checks, individual coaching and team sharing. Through numerous cycles of planning, implementation, and adjustment, my team successfully established a hybrid working mode, launched 24/7 online services, and expanded service scope with the same human resources. Alongside these changes, my team’s service quality and sales achievement consistently ranked at the top of the department.
