Hi! My name is Daisy Gonzalez, a dedicated and driven senior at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, majoring in Political Science with minors in Legal Studies and Marketing. My academic journey is shaping my future as an attorney, where I aim to make a positive impact by advocating for justice and equality.With building experiences in both legal studies and marketing, I've developed a diverse set of skills that allows me to analyze complex issues from several angles. My involvement in hands-on projects, like making comprehensive marketing plans for local businesses, and studies in the legal system, has strengthened my ability to research, strategize, and present solutions- skills I plan to carry into my legal career. I have honed in on these skills by establishing the first undergraduate chapter of the Lawtina Network, an organization that focuses on providing access, opportunity, academic success and unity to Latinas in their legal career. I serve as a Co-Founder and Vice-President on our executive board. Similarly, I am also involved as Treasurer of the Political Science Association, and immersed in organizations like the Pre-Law Society and RGV College Democrats. Beyond my academic studies, I am a huge champion for community involvement and advocacy. As a passionate volunteer for organizations like Special Olympics, ABA South Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR), UnidosUS, and RGV Gives Back, I've learned firsthand the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and perseverance, values I aim to bring into my future career.I am very excited to continue building knowledge and professional network as I prepare for law school and the next steps in my career.
