About Daisy C.
Hi! I am a fourth-year, first-generation student at the University of Florida pursuing a major in public health and a minor in Health Disparities in Society. I also recently started my Combination Bachelor’s/Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. My lived experiences have shaped my interest in public health, driving me to dismantle current injustices, improve health outcomes, and address health inequities. As an emerging public health professional, I have experience in research, data analysis, and tribal health during my participation in the 2023 CDC John Lewis Scholars program. Additionally, during my time at CareSource, I was involved in several projects, such as improving pregnant and postpartum member materials, conducting population health analyses, and building a framework for an enterprise-wide health equity training. On campus, I have taken on several leadership roles that have honed my team management, event planning, communication, and collaboration skills.

The SMILE study aims to compare short- and long-term health outcomes in participants using conventional chronic pain treatments and participants beginning medical marijuana treatment.Contact, screen, and consent participants into the study by performing phone screenings and utilizing REDcap database to schedule baseline visits.
