Project Manager
I managed the company's community Product functions. I set the roadmap with multiple products which were rolled on to the site, while managing over the design and engineering teams that built those products. I was also responsible for providing cross-company updates on projects which included Keynote presentations to senior management, maintaining Google Docs and other work flow systems (Jira, Trello, etc.), and collecting and interpreting metrics pertaining to UGC and community site usage - which helped inform maintenance of products and future project decisions. While performing these responsibilities I also maintained relationships within the editorial, video, sales, engineering, design, marketing, finance and management departments.
Special Projects Manager
I worked on tent-pole articles and industry events. I helped create IGN's mini-sites for events such as E3 and Comic-Con, and took care of on-site promotion for these pages as well. The articles I built were massive trafficked sites such as our Top 100 sites, best of the year awards, Holiday Buyers Guides, and other random large scale features. In the nearly two years that I helped out in this position I was responsible for bringing in over 137 million page views to the company. On top of building and managing content for these sites I was also in charge of working between departments at IGN to make sure that these major features were built properly, designed to spec, promoted outside of IGN and sponsored.
Entertainment Database Manager
The Entertainment Database consisted of data pertaining to Movies, Television, Comic Books, Music, Stars (celebrities), and Gear/Tech. I made sure that we had data secured for these areas of IGN so that our articles had a place to live on the site - this required data entry on my part as well as multiple freelancers under my employ. Another aspect of the job was working with Product and Engineering to make sure that the CMS was working correctly, and that the data was represented correctly in a user friendly manner on the site.
Community Database Manager
I was responsible for building and maintaining the community around IGN's Entertainment properties (Movies, TV, Comic Books, Music, and Technology). This role had me on the forums and boards finding key members and having them assist in creating better tools for the site, as well as creating articles that promoted the best UGC (reader reviews and blogs).
Television Database Editor
I helped create the television site for IGN in this role. I balanced editorial responsibilities (doing news, reviews, previews, interviews, podcasts, etc.), along with the creation and maintenance of the television data in our database.
Graphics Coordinator
I was originally brought in to just edit graphics for live broadcasts, but soon was promoted to editing and managing the live product. After many cuts at this start-up company I was moved to working as a Sound Technician, Floor Manager, Cameraman, and eventually live broadcast Director/Technical Director.
