Pursuing a double major in Education and American Culture Studies, with a minor in Business of Social Impact. Growing up in poverty under the care of a single mother in South Sacramento, I personally witnessed the profound impact education can have. For me, education was a means of breaking free from poverty, offering a new life. However, my experience is not the normative for the countless other students across America attending underfunded schools, this even includes my three siblings. Acknowledging the rarity of my journey, I aspire to devote my life to addressing the numerous inequities within our K-12 education system, so all students can experience the power of education.
