Dak Dillon is a leading communicator and designer who draws on his extensive experience in print, visual, broadcast and digital design to keep a broad range of organizations at the forefront of marketing and strategic outreach. He first garnered wide recognition when he launched Dakota Creative and worked with brand-name companies on NASCAR sponsorships while still in high school. After graduating with a degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri’s Missouri School of Journalism, Dak founded Hub & Spoke, a boutique marketing and creative agency that crafts smart solutions for mission-driven organizations across the country with important stories to tell. Dak sets the strategic and creative direction for the agency, which has been honored as a Distinguished Agency and garnered 50+ awards, including 10 AAF ADDY Awards. Graphic Design USA magazine has given the firm numerous accolades, and named Dak a “Designer to Watch.” Dak is also Editor in Chief of NewscastStudio — a trade publication serving the television creative and engineering industry. Dak has direct experience in this field, having earned a Gold Promax award and multiple Emmy nominations for broadcast projects he has consulted on. His latest undertaking is Nonprofits Decoded, an online publication focused on digital strategy and technology for nonprofits. As a photographer Dak has been recognized by the Hearst Journalism Foundation and published in The New York Times, USA Today, Chronicle of Higher Education, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Fox Sports, Golf World and NASCAR Illustrated. Dak has been quoted in multiple journalism and design textbooks. He has hosted and produced a half-hour food tourism television show, led multiple efforts to connect businesses with creative professionals, and given back through various non-profits.
