Business development for Millbrook's growing CAV testbed, simulation capability and 5G test site

The MOD Technical Demonstrator 06 programme is designed to provide information to Army Headquarters on the benefits and disbenefits of vehicle hybridisation. It will convert 3 military vehicles using different types of serial hybrid powertrains using commercially available systems in order to evaluate vehicle performance, demonstrate capabilities and determine the enhancements required for military use. The programme involves input from 7 companies in addition to various MOD agencies.

Programme manager for a £14 millioncontract with Defence Equipment and Support for automotive advice and trials. Acting as single point of contact for tasking, liaising with MOD, Millbrook staff and sub contractors. Individual accountability for programme management including achievement of key performance measures. Provision of system requirement and automotive engineering advice and support. Project management of sub contractors.

Individual responsibility for management and reporting of Quarterly Reviews and processing programme change. Acting as a conduit between DE&S Central Staff and Army-facing Capability Operating Centres, ensuring consistency with other Capability environments and providing support to Army HQ in financial planning for its Equipment Programme.

Afghanistan

Equipment Capability lead staffing Urgent Operational Requirements and fielding equipment for UK forces in Afghanistan. With a staff of 10 specialist desk officers providing expert advice to operational troops and leading the fielding of equipment and modifications as well as running the Redeployment and Regeneration of all vehicles and major equipment. Personal responsibility for in-theatre force protection policy and waivers.

UK MOD lead and sponsor for intelligence and surveillance collection systems in the Land environment, with individual responsibility for unmanned air vehicles and supervision of ground surveillance and electronic warfare systems.

Responsible for integration of complex electronic systems onto military vehicles, ensuring interoperability with communications and vehicle systems. Sponsor of DEFSTAN 61-5 power standards for military vehicles and key stakeholder for DEFSTAN 59-411 EMC standards for land systems. Start up programme manager for Land base ISTAR and Military Working Dogs. Senior staff officer for Head of MoD DE&S Counter IED.
