Worked under the Communicable Disease Department on the COVID-19 team. Contact traced residents of DeKalb County who had tested positive for COVID-19. Also contact traced businesses within the county that had multiple staff members test positive. Notified those who were in close contact with someone diagnosed and help them determine what steps to take pending their vaccination status. Worked closely with school districts, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and Northern Illinois University to develop guidelines and give guidance to reduce the spread of the virus. When such facilities are in an "outbreak", remained in constant contact to stop further spread and compile data to send to IDPH. Provided resources and referrals about quarantine, social distancing, statistics and data about the disease, and vaccination clinics. Collaborated with the COVID-19 Vaccination Program to provide clinics across the county. Worked multiple vaccination clinics throughout the year to improve county's vaccination status. Reviewed information from IDPH and the CDC to share to county residents. Input patient medical information to a state-wide database (ICARE).
