• Good Neighbor Authority Program Lead for the Olympic National Forest (ONF) Cooperates in shared stewardship, increased pace and scale for Restoration in the ONF; creates/plans/implements 2 year Program of Work• Interprets and implements Forest Land Plans, State and National Environmental Assessments to determine Environmental Analysis Design Criteria for restoration activities such as Commercial thinning’s, aquatic restoration, and decommissioning of road systems; works to identifying problem areas for hard to achieve projects and be a resource for the ONF to achieve these goals• Considers forest inventory, haul costs, access, timber stand quality, forest health and resiliency, and long-term management objectives when assessing potential timber sale units and associated non-commercial restoration projects such as invasive species management, fish habitat restoration, and road decommissioning• Uses forestry tools and surveying techniques for stream typing, wetland identification, forest inventory, timber stand prescriptions, wildlife and habitat identification and consultation, unstable slopes identification to create and implement management plans • Successfully planned and sold 3 Restoration Projects with commercial thinning of timber stands to enhance habitat quality of National Forest land and aquatic resource restoration; effectively securing a 1.7 million dollar budget of revenue to solidify GNA’s presence in Olympic National Forest• Prepares data analysis, technical and legal timber sale documents, contracts, maps, and cruises for planning, project prep, and contract administration using ArcGIS and Word• Successfully communicates and coordinates with multi-disciplinary science teams, non-profit organizations, Industry Reps, Resource Specialists, Forest Collaboratives, and Forest Service to establish protocol and develop the GNA program through projects and partnerships; facilitates meetings, field visits, project goals
