• Occupational Health and Safety Department (2010-2013):
• Performed a visual inspection of storm drains on the UAB campus, noting type and location.
• Implemented a system for risk assessment of contamination of each storm drain based on surroundings.
• Compiled and analyzed results and differences, with an Excel Spreadsheet, for two strategic areas: the main campus and the medical complex.
• Project was continued in 2013 for a series of additional assessments considering the effects of point and nonpoint sources.

• First Project (2007-08):
• Surveyed several buildings on the UAB campus for occupancy and lighting conditions during after-hours (nights and weekends)
• Developed Excel Spreadsheets summing the total number of occupants on each floor and in the building as a whole and the total number of rooms that were unoccupied and fully lit at each nominal time.
• Compiled reports in Microsoft Word for each building which summarized and interpreted these results, together with utility bill information.
• Used data from this project to conduct statistical analysis and determine of three metrics for energy conservation that are included in the Master’s Thesis.Second Project (2009-2012):
• Surveyed lighting fixtures in buildings on the UAB campus, making notes of the following conditions: ballast type; fixture type; bulb type; and number of bulbs.

• Analyzed pipe production data to reveal patterns and determine causes of critical defects using Microsoft Excel and other programs.
• Attended meetings devoted to reducing certain defects in pipe, such as leaks and pinholes, by brainstorming and problem solving, amongst members of several different production teams.
