I am responsible for the full Hardware Strategy and represent Commodity Owner Workspace by asset planning the global HW fleet of all Credit Suisse Locations globally in all locations, whereby taking into account BAU as well as strategic planning of CAPEX on a yearly basis in order to manage the global product catalogue. As strategy and architecture our team is driving roadmap for all workspace related products, be it the iDesktop Windows Build that runs on all our asset classes , physical as well as virtual, all Core Applications, M365, Edge , Adobe etc. Enterprise Systems Mgmt. with Microsoft SCCM, Intune and Configuration Manager , whereby also providing our AppOwners an Interface AppBox for automatic self packaging of our application portfolio 2500-3000 apps. Our Thin Clients run on an Ubuntu Linux Version with Igel and we have also remote access with VPN for Laptops and with Netscaler and Citrix for our BYOD estate.In a rapid changing world, we challenge continuously status quo, drive innovations and disrupt in order not to be disrupted. I was Global Head of Citrix Engineering for Credit Suisse Group, which consisted out of 2 major Business Units ( Credit Suisse First Boston and Credit Suisse Privat Bank). In that role I had initiated the Project oneCitrix & CDE , which targeted to converge the 2 available different Citrix Server Builds (OMNI and BBSW). With the add-on CDE (Citrix Desktop Virtualization) I have introduced a viable alternative against the VDI (Virtual Desktop Solution). Then, almost the full year 2008 I have spent to introduce into Credit Suisse globally 4 major Hub-Sites hosting Virtual Desktops VMWARE on ESX 3/3.5. counting up to 7000 Virtual Desktops, whereby utilizing a home grown Virtual Machine Provisioning System called VMPS, which had now been spinned off as an IPO into a new firm called Dynamic Ops. Under the name Dynamic Ops a follower Product was released called VRM (Virtual Resource Manager), which is going to be the standard within Credit Suisse for VDI. It supports NetApp, XenDesktop, Citrix Provisioning Server and many more user friendly management tools by Web and detailed reporting possibilities. In August 2008 I have handed over VDI to global VDI operations managed at this time by Sean Manahan. I had been VDI Product Manager afterwards , until I got called into a major Reorganisation, where I had given to Sean my Product Management function and started to be the Desktop Product Manager within one of the largest Program within Credit Suisse called iDesktop.
