During my career to date I have gained a great deal of experience with computer IT packages and would consider myself to have a high degree of competence with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Notebook packages together with their Mac equivalents. In addition to this I have experience with engine management and diagnostic software packages e.g. TuneECU, MegaSquirt, Dynojet, ECU Master and Picotech, TechEdge datalogging and CAD experience with Siemens NX, Solid works and Fusion 360.After leaving school I served a City & Guilds apprenticeship with two moderately sized engineering companies that has provided me with a very wide knowledge base of both the practical and theoretical aspects involved in engineering. These skills incorporate sheet metal work, metal fabrication and welding including Gas, MMA, TiG and MiG together with milling, turning and bench fitting skills. During this time I also began road racing on a Yamaha RD350LC, a bike that was fully prepared and maintained by myself. This ultimately led to establishing my own motorcycle performance engineering business that offered 2 & 4 stroke engine tuning, complete preparation and set-up of competition motorcycles from the ground up for use in road racing, supermoto, motocross and trials up to privateer level in various British championships as well as for the Manx GP. A further aspect of the business involved subcontract services to other local shops and dealers, this predominantly involved engine overhauls and rebuilding. In addition, I have also worked as a motorcycle trackday instructor for Technical Driving Solutions (TDS) who were contracted to Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ducati, Motorcycle City, Ontrack Leisure (Brands Hatch's own track event company) and EMAP, under their Performance Bike, Bike Magazine and MCN banners at the UK's major race circuits.
