Stories, are so vital to the work we do in higher education, because it is not about the pass that was caught, but the life-change that happens to that man or woman out on the floor, ice, or field when they are pushed to their max--physically, emotionally, mentally--when submitting to the rules of the sport and competing against self and opponent. These are the stories that Dale captured: the literal transformation of men and women in the act. He told these stories with accuracy, timeliness, creativity, accessibility, and ease. I can only assume that the dedication and hard work I have seen from Dale at Bethel would be true wherever he worked. And I bet with them, he too would catch their story--in the act."
