About Dale Good

Mr. Good is the principal of Justice Technology Consulting, Inc. focused on improving justice and public safety through intelligent application of technology and policy. His service in Minnesota, California and nationwide has been in many capacities including research director, senior manager, executive director, information systems director and chief information officer. He has 25 years of experience integrating systems and data sharing between state agencies and with local government. He participated in Minnesota in the conceptualization and creation of a multi-agency, multi-unit of government collaboration devoted to the improvement of criminal justice data and systems. This effort resulted in a coordinated approach to legislative funding (estimated to be over $100M in one time funding and tens of millions in recurring appropriations), multi-agency information technology architecture, and a coordinated approach to cross-agency systems development and implementation. His experience with justice information integration projects nationwide included providing technical assistance to large counties and several state and tribal projects. He managed a large, full-service judicial branch information technology department, and was the first state agency to implement portals, web services and messaging middleware and contemporary integration technologies. In the policy arena he has worked on data quality and improving the completeness of statewide criminal history records, data privacy, records retention, and non-criminal background check issues. He has served on the Global Standards Council of the US DOJ sponsored Global Information Sharing Initiative, as well as the IJIS Institute Springboard initiative. He is a regular speaker at national conferences, most recently the Court Technology Conferences 2011 and 2009, as well as at the Bureau of Justice Assistance Rural Law Enforcement Training and Technical Assistance Conference in 2010.
