Converted Oil Labs from a MS-DOS based system to a more modern one that uses:• Java Swing to collect and merge the oil and water samples from locomotives and other equipment from 4 separate flat files, and creates a SOAP message, which is passed on to:• LmisService, a service application written to take the SOAP message and after verifying the user’s credentials, loads the data into DB2 tables, for further processing in• LMIS which has a form that can update 100 oil samples, with each sample containing more than 60 attributes each. Once verified via attributes stored in other LMIS tables, the updated information is stored in LMIS, and mainframe reports and Oil Lab workorders are created via batch job.

Helped develop Options Analytics functionality for E*TRADE’s customer facing website.Wrote and tested code using Spring and Java multiple sets of windowed data that allows users to look at different tabbed and window data all within the same HttpSession using Eclipse on RedHat AS5. Wrote and tested a Java web service that monitors database, C based, and other services to use as a diagnostic tool to catch potential service outages.Helped as needed test other components of Option Analytics by using the application, by testing by URL, and testing the Java Web service component.

Helped design, implement and maintain a web application that authors use for creating and editing some 9000 XML based task cards using Java, Servlets, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DFC. Created a program that helped clean XML task cards after being authored, and before they were loaded into UsAir’s repository.Created SQL Server 2000 tables supporting Documentum that stored effectivity and task card information. Designed, created and refined process for creating work packages to allow aircraft mechanics to perform maintenance on aircraft, to sort them by letter check per the customer's method, and remove duplicate task cards from work packages.· Developed a process for customizing PDFs for the purpose of creating watermarks, and date and time stamping on them before printing, or sending the to the users.Developed a process within publish that took the first page of every task card in a given work package, and would then create a “board copy” PDF file for each work package.Developed method of extracting parts, tools, and materials information from the task cards using DOM and object properties into an internal Java database via HSQLDB, and then created Excel spreadsheets with parts, materials, and tools lists using Apache POI.Developed a multi-threaded utilities application using Java, Swing, and DFC that handled various utilities that needed to be performed including task card reporting, task card export, task card removal from the repository, effectivity maintenance, and Documentum DQL browsing.Developed a preview application using Java and RenderX that would take task card input, parse it through a customized style sheet, and pass the output through RenderX creating PDF output that can be viewed by the users.Performed Documentum object dumps, loads, and docbase maintenance on testing and production docbases using IAPI, DA, or when needed by custom code.

Upgraded Gateway, and refactored Gateway to be developed and tested under Netbeans 4 and 5 environments (Solaris, Linux, and Windows), which allows complete web application debugging and streamlined WAR file creation. Cleaned up logging, and eliminated unnecessary messages within the Gateway.Created HTTP Client singleton to retrieve Information from Web-based services when they are queried. Added modules to incorporate additional IHS (Web-based) repository searches within the Gateway.Wrote and tested Java Swing application with extracts images and XML meta data from a JEDMICS repository and place them in a directory structure for later OCR processing and storage into a RetrievalWare repository.Wrote and tested Web Application and Java client application that was capable to retrieve technical orders directly from a Tomcat based application server. There were several controls including logging, and password protection, and IP identification to allow very limited access.Developed Hierarchical Oracle database, that was then used to develop new database structures that were specific to each user, and could then be used to manipulate and report data from the database. Reporting was accomplished by generating XML, and parsing them via XSLT stylesheets to create the necessary HTML to be displayed. The web display worked equally well under Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.Helped convert Tracking database from Microsoft Access to Oracle using Java and JDBC, cleaned up the database structure, and created a new Web Application to manipulate, display, and report the data.Upgraded VB/C# program that converts a technical manual that was stored as SGML and TIF images. This process then further converts them into XML (parsed via XSLT stylesheets) that are viewable in Internet Explorer. Wrote several data and document retrieval programs in Visual C++ 6.0.

Developed a program written in Java that parsed XML files created for the Postal Inspection Service to verify the structure and content of the XML files created.Developed a program written in Visual Basic 6.0 that extracted image CD's, encoded the images via Base64 encoding, and created XML files that was read by the Postal Inspection Service for image processing.Developed a program written in C language for Visual C++ 5.0 used to extract index and image data from an image CD created for the Postal Inspection Service. Also generated HTML that allows users to view JPEG images from a CD on a web browser (Netscape 4 and Internet Explorer 5).Created a website in HTML that is used as a reference to members of our team. The website also contains documentation for job and other problems.Developed a prototype written in Visual C++ 5.0 and using Snowbound Software's RasterMaster libraries that was capable of printing images and data created by the Federal Reserve for the Postal Service to aid in adjustments. Part of a team that developed an interface that tracked groups of Postal Money Orders as they are imaged. This interface also acts as a control to make sure events are processed in the correct order, which reduces problems. This was written as a combination of COBOL, REXX, and JCL. This was written in ISPF, MVS Batch, and CPCS.Wrote software in C for Windows NT that checked the length of filesuites created on the UNIX mainframe, and reported information on each filesuite. Created a intranet website for development staff to use as a repository of information.Created ISPF/REXX/COBOL programs that allows users to create a form to use to balance against the image and image data sent to the Postal Service.Contributed to the successful Y2K rollover, and covered the on-call pager as part of a rotating schedule.

Programmer/Analyst assigned to maintain software for the Mexican railroad. Along with preparing the code for the Y2K cut over, we were responsible for software enhancement and maintenance, using COBOL and RAIL. Was also a resource to new members of the team when programming questions arose.

Programmer/Analyst as a part of a team that developed, maintained, tested, and documented a set of programmers libraries. The libraries included TCXL, TFILE, TCOMP TCXL/Edit, UpadateIT!, and C Asynch Manager. The multi-platform code was written for DOS, 286 and 386 protected mode DOS, Windows 3.1, and OS/2 (text mode and Presentation Manager). The code was written in C and C++, and used many of the commercially available DOS, Windows, and OS/2 compilers available at the time. Duties also included support by telephone, FAX, BBS, and Compuserve.

Programmer in TPF Coverage that helped provide technical guidance and support for the reservation system, and to the application developers. Duties included loading and removing programs, developing software, coordinating scheduled outages, acting as a point of contact to all levels of management during planned and unplanned outages. We applied real-time patches to the production system, and tracked and fixed problems with the production system. We also wrote diagnostic software in support the production system.
