Provide Human Resources/Employee Relations consulting to public education employees and organizations along with answering questions and providing direction to former employees Dallas County Schools.

Unified three separate NEA member organizations into one, NEA-Dallas; responsible for day-to-day operations of a 2400+ member local of the National Education Association; performed all media interactions (press releases, media advisories, interviews) in the fifth largest media market in the U.S. becoming a recognized voice for education employees in the DFW area; prepared budgets in conjunction with the Budget Committee for approval by the Board of Directors and General Membership; conducted Board meetings; supervised office staff and coordinated with NEA Field Staff; responsible for all media interactions (press releases, media advisories, interviews) in the fifth largest media market in the U.S.; obtained and managed over $120,000 in grants from the NEA for work in low-performing school in the Dallas ISD; networked with community leaders on educational issues; represented employees on numerous committees in the Dallas ISD and Dallas County Schools; met regularly with the Board President and Superintendent of Dallas County Schools on employee issues; represented members in the Dallas ISD and DCS grievance processes; achieved financial independence and debt-free status for the local; worked with Dallas ISD Administration and Board of Trustees to reduce a proposed 800-teacher layoff down to 400; assisted in providing placement opportunities to those 400 who were released; represented our local at state and national meetings.

Subjects Taught: AP U.S. Government, U.S. Government, Sheltered World Geography. Coaching: Head Boys/Girls Golf Coach; Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach with direct head coaching responsibilities for two freshman teams. Planned/Directed/Hosted the 1st Annual McDonald’s-Skyline Freshman Girls Basketball Tournament (16 teams).Sports Information: Responsible for statistics; photography; publication of media guides / game programs; writing of press releases; maintaining five websites; and, game public address announcing.

Subjects taught: Civics, Broadcasting, Free Enterprise, World Geography, World History, Effective Studies and Law Studies. Department Chair: Responsible for assisting with staff class scheduling; dissemination of information within the department; and, conducting departmental meetings and in-service for a department of eight. Coaching: Head Boys/Girls Cross Country [District 2-4A Coach of the Year]; Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach with direct head coaching responsibilities for JV and Freshman teams; Assistant Softball Coach. Additional: Freshman Class Sponsor; Student Council Co-Sponsor; Co-Director, MHS Darling Pageant; and, Statistician/Public Address Announcer for the football team.
