Current• Work with physicians, renal nurses, dietitians, social workers, and technicians to provide safe and effective dialysis to patients. • Round on dialysis patients collecting history, reviewing lab work, and doing physical assessments, adjust plan of care as needed.• Use motivational interviewing techniques to improve treatment compliance. • Educate office and HD patients on alternative RRT modalities, dietary and lifestyle issues that impact their renal and overall health, and the… Show more • Work with physicians, renal nurses, dietitians, social workers, and technicians to provide safe and effective dialysis to patients. • Round on dialysis patients collecting history, reviewing lab work, and doing physical assessments, adjust plan of care as needed.• Use motivational interviewing techniques to improve treatment compliance. • Educate office and HD patients on alternative RRT modalities, dietary and lifestyle issues that impact their renal and overall health, and the risks and benefits of permanent access vs use of central lines. • See office patients, order tests, and evaluate results, and review renal status with them. Manage blood pressure. Provide plans of care to decrease or halt rate of kidney function decline. • Refer to other specialties as appropriate.• Use EPIC EMR ambulatory, Pearlcare EMR, and Provider Hub EMR for documentation and acquiring records for the treatment and care of patients.
