This is a new role in the New Zealand Playcentre Federation. In my role as regional manager I am responsible for 78 Playcentres in the Upper South Island. Right now I'm focused on supporting the amalgamation of the Playcentre organisation and supporting the centres and staff to transition into the new organisation.On a daily basis my job is about.

I share the responsibility of managing a Ministry of Education professional development contract for the New Zealand Playcentre Federation. My key responsibilities are programme development, facilitator mentoring and support, and quality management, evaluation and progress reporting on the programme outcomes.

I have worked with a range of centres supporting them to reflect on their practices and review their ways of working using Ngā Arohae Whai Hua/Self-review guidelines for early childhood education. Each programme provided me with new challenges and I continue to learn to work more reflectively through my work as a professional development facilitator.

Responsible for leadership, development and general management at the Canterbury Playcentre Association. Our focus for 2016 is on growing Playcentre to be a strong viable option for our mokopuna in the future.

In this role I facilitate and tutor learning events to deliver the Playentre Early Childhood and Adult Education Diploma.

In this role I was responsible for the development and implementation of the NZQA approved Playcentre Diploma in Early Childhood and Adult Education. My key responsibilities in this role was to manage and support a team, ensure the effective delivery and quality management of the above diploma to Playcentres in the Canterbury region.

I was appointed by the Ministry of Education as statutory manager for curriculum and student achievemnt for Tamariki School. Our key focus was on implementing robust self review processes to ensure the school can provide effective learning experiences for their tamariki.

I participated in the TLRI research project that explored children’s working theories in action. We looked at the ways young children expressed their working theories and how these were understood and fostered in Playcentre environments. The findings show ways that children express and develop working theories, how practitioners understand these, and how.
