School children have an increased homework load, exam difficulty level has increased and decisions must be made about their future job prospects. Not to mention that young people have the added pressure of socialising not only at school or at the park, its seen as ‘uncool’ if you don't narrate a detailed account of ones life via an array social media sites sometimes till the early hours of the morning. How much can a teenager’s mind absorb and/or cope with the amount of unnecessary harassments of daily life? How experienced are they to deal with this?This is where Lyte Minds comes in, to provide young people with invaluable tools to create their own happiness, build resilience, defend against anxieties and develop self belief. We want to attack the gap just below where children unfortunately do not qualify to receive specialised psychological help provided by the government and in some cases the help comes too late. Despite my adventure I wanted to continue my career in education. I successfully impressed in my interview for Harris CofE Academy teaching Physical Education in my first year and a combination of PE and the Head of the Refocus Unit in my second. I had great success in directing misguided students back into the mainstream society of the school through a unconventional scheme of work I personally developed by means of researching mind, social and emotional health topics. I later discovered that not only "misguided" students should benefit from this but each and every student and teacher should be shown the importance of how their emotions affect their daily lives. I began thinking and developing material further by including proven techniques such as Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) which help empower young people to succeed by giving them the tools to improve their self-esteem. I decided to enrol on an NLP Practitioner Course to refine and develop my knowledge. This lead me to the idea and creation of Lyte Minds Ltd - giving young minds the tools to create their own happiness.

This venture only strengthened my taste for teaching and passion for inspiring young minds.
