I’m committed to making exercise as fun and effective as possible. When my parents were my age they looked a lot older than I do and they weren’t focused on their diet. I certainly can’t imagine them going to the gym. I think that’s a shame as they simply didn’t have the quality of life and the energy that I’m enjoying now. Gold medals or not, one thing that I will never take for granted is my good health and fitness. It’s never too late to make positive changes to your health and wellbeing. Now for the factual bit! In my athletics career, I was the first man to win two Olympic gold medals and a World Championship. I also created four world records, won three Commonwealth gold medals (1978, 82 and 86), two European Championships (1983 and 86) and was unbeaten for nine years. I was also was the first athlete to hold all four major titles at the same time in the same event and I’m still the British record-holder. I was awarded the MBE in 1982, the OBE in 1986 and the CBE in 2000. I now run my gym in Putney - DaleyFitness, and have developed Daley5Minutes, a set of 5-minute exercise routines for all ages and abilities and have co-created a fantastic new range of healthy and great tasting protein bars and shakes under the "DT10 Sports" brand that are clean label and Informed Sports approved. I’m also a motivational speaker, commentator and work with a number of corporates and charities.
