Due to my going to college specifically for game development, I have at least some experience with most every part of production--possibly the only part I haven't dipped my toe into is coding. I have several years of professional experience at Razor Edge in rigging as well as many more years of experience in rigging if you count using it in school. My primary program is Maya, but I have some experience with Unity's Animation Rigging system and with Unreal.Most recently, I joined Ascendant Studios as a contract junior rigger on their game Immortals of Aveum. Most of my work there has been cleaning up skinning weights. This has given me experience with more recent versions of Unreal, even if that experience is pretty much just reimporting assets from source control (Perforce in this case) that I edited the skinning on and then saving and pushing said changes out to be included in the next build (which, to my knowledge, I have yet to break.)I love loading up a new model to rig and evaluating what could make it different or more challenging to rig than the previous rig that may have been similar. How would I rig a mutated human differently than a dog? I don't know, but it'll be fun to find out! A lot of the things I have done that really challenged me were personal projects. Most recently, a compound bow. I did have to reach out to Rigging Dojo for help with that one, but the result is beautiful.I decided on pursuing game development when I was fifteen or sixteen because I had been playing video games since I was six maybe seven--the first game I remember playing is Warcraft 2. I decided to focus on rigging after my first rigging class in my undergraduate. Due to the model I chose for that class, the teacher couldn't help me with more than the basic arms/legs/torso. I had to figure out how to rig the wings myself (mercifully, I didn't go with a model with feathered wings as my first foray into rigging).
