Dalia S. Rodríguez studied History of Art, Management of Cultural Heritage and Development Cooperation. Since 2017, she holds a professional diploma as a dressmaker and seamstress. From 2004 to 2010, she worked as a project manager in the field of cultural development cooperation in Argentina, France, Lebanon and Morocco. From 2009 to 2015, Dalia worked on Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, intercultural dialogue and women´s empowerment for international organisations such as the United Nations Development Programme, the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe and the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations. In this framework, she managed and monitored projects, and organised international events such as forums, summer schools, conferences and workshops with local partners in cities such as Tétouan and Rabat (Morocco), Tunis (Tunisia), Braga, Guimarães and Lisbon (Portugal), Baku (Azerbaijan), Istanbul (Turkey), and La Valetta (Malta) as well as developed a relevant Euro-Med Women Network.In 2015, she joined Dialogue Cafe Association to coordinate international debates organised through videoconference on social innovation, creative economy, entrepreneurship, the SDGs, human rights and intercultural dialogue issues. From 2015 to 2021 (April), she worked for the Global Platform for Higher Education in Emergencies as a communication assistant, supporting fundraising and the organisation of international conferences (Lisbon, 2018, 2020) and summer schools (2018, 2017).She currently speaks 5 languages, namely English, French and Portuguese as well as Catalan and Spanish.Her strong interest in traditional artisanship and cultural heritage brought her to develop other projects as her own brand of handcrafted and sustainable textile garments called Dahlia Rodriguez Atelier. In 2020/2021, she started her PhD research at IADE University in Lisbon on craftsdesign, social innovation and sustainability. Her aim is to promote women´s artisans by enhancing artisan know-how and analysing the role of crafts as a vector for social change and sustainability. Moreover, she has been involved in several projects bringing together slow fashion, artisanship and sustainability such as MUB Collection or ATLANTICA Capsule Collection, both projects funded by the Worth Partnership Project.Finally, Dahlia has been involved as a volunteer and trainer in several projects promoting empowerment through crafts of migrants, youth at risk and rural women.
