*Weekly Meetings at the All Nations Training Center located on the Oglala Lakota Nation.*A growing circle of men participate in rites of passage, activities to build man to man support, trust and unity as practiced by men who led the Seven Council Fires.*These Courageous circle activities are designed to deepen relationships between men for the purpose of strengthening skills in the area of communication, leadership, healing, brotherhood and cultural competency.*Indigenous Men's Oyate's primary focus is to provide the latest communication tools, skills and processes along with cultural teachings to address each participating man's emotional self and build a body of men who practice support, trust, accountability and unity.*These grandfathers, fathers, uncles, sons, brothers, cousins, and nephews can experience what it means to be a provider, protector and nurturer from the inside out.*Our families then become the next beneficiaries. It is our HOPE we can change emotional poverty into emotional billionaire feelings, actions and behaviors our ancestors modeled.*We invite our male relatives to witness and experience any of the activities.*Outreach Training Circles upon request at other locations.*Weekend Superman Training Camps at the Chief Eagle Retreat Center times will be posted.

World Renowned Lakota Hoop DancerNurturing The Hoop Of Life Aug 1963 - PresentMartin, South Dakota*Dallas is an K-12 art teacher with a master’s degree in guidance counseling and personnel services. A Recognized Master of the Lakota Hoop Dance, Dallas has worked as an artist-in-residency and mentor to other dancers through his Hoop Dance Society on the Pine Ridge Reservation. *Dallas is a member of the Rosebud Lakota nation.*Dallas shares and teaches the traditional hoop dance in a manner that the students enjoy while learning about the development of their own characters. *Through the “hoop,” Dallas places an emphasis on the importance of both female and males roles in the world and presents traditional Lakota perspectives on boy-to-man/girl-to-woman growth. Over 300 hoops are used in a residency which focuses on self-balance, rhythm and movement.* The finale of the residency is a school assembly or public performance during which core groups of students demonstrate the skills they have acquired throughout the week.*Technical Requirements: Atleast 32' by 16' dance area, Microphone and CD Player. Fee Structure: $700 to $1,000 across the state fees. Hoop dance workshops. Multi-day Residency and additional dancers & singers available upon request (South Dakota Arts Council fee support up to 50% is available upon request) South Dakota Arts Council support is provided with funds from the State of South Dakota and the National Endowment for the Arts. This project is also funded directly by the National Endowment for the Arts through South Dakotans for the Arts.
