Excited to start on a new adventure with a new subscription billing platform: Zuora. My duties include:Design and verify a solution architecture that supports all business requirements.Review technical team deliverables for best practices and architectural standards.Educate the client on different points of view related to various technologies and solution options.Present architecture deliverables to client stakeholders and engineering teams.Interact on a regular basis with client executives and key project stakeholders and sponsors.

As Director of Solution Architecture at Congero Technology group, I am responsible for overall solution architecture for any billable projects to which I am assigned, as well as often serving as overall engagement manager for that project. That means that I have responsibility to learn the customer's business as well as possible, and understand and direct how to incorporate the Congero billing solution into that customer's current infrastructure and processes. That involves meeting with both IT and Business project owners to advise on best practices and coordinate on project timelines, development and testing phases, and problem resolution as needed. As engagement manager, I regularly advise the customer's executive management on status of the project, helping them to understand business impacts for various decisions and helping them to understand make decisions when issues arise in the course of the project. Internally at Congero, I direct internal development projects as needed, and develop policies and procedures for project and development governance and methodologies, to ensure standardized project implementation strategies are followed in the field.

Since joining Ebillsoft as a senior principal solution architect for Oracle BRM, I have been serving as overall engagement lead and solution architect for an Oracle Cloud Platform-based BRM 7.5 implementation for a major advertising services firm in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.Additionally, I assist with pre-sales engineering activities when new opportunities arise for the company.

Solutions architect in the Oracle BRM line of business, creating comprehensive billing solutions for SSG's clients. Also work extensively in generating new business in a sales engineering capacity as well as establishing new relationships with companies thinking about implementing BRM sometime in the future.

Sub-Contracting through SSG, Ltd. to serve as the BRM archtitect for the back-end solution on this project to implement a new installation of BRM 7.4 for their Fibre Op rollout. Design and direct design and implementation of new payment solutions, pricing and discount pipeline setup, GL, tax implementation and long distance usage rating, as well as invoicing/bill presentment. I also write code as needed, and advise the client on BRM best practices. Other activities related to leading the implementation team as well.

Sub-Contracted at this company through SSG, Ltd., performing staff supplementation and on-site BRM SME duties, correcting system defects, implementing new functionality, and serving as advisor to client management on the capabilities of BRM in general and Operations best practices.

Short-term contract to create two Java applications for the Portal Infranet system (v 6.5). One application re-engineered an existing data migration application that was performing poorly to enhance performance. The other application copied existing account data into an archive schema, and also contained functionality to delete the archived accounts and other data missed by the "Delete Account" opcode.

Responsible for directing day-to-day operations of the production BRM (v7.2) billing system, ensuring payment processing functioned reliably and resolving issues in a timely manner. Also ensured the interface with the Customer Service application remained stable and that any performance issues were resolved in a timely manner. Directed monitoring of day-to-day operations issues by the operations team.

Responsible for design, development and implementation of complex and robust technical solutions for the UOL billing system. Solely responsible for selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for those solutions.Primary architect and developer for several external-billing interfaces.Made extensive modifications to external credit card interface during conversion from Infranet 5.5.3 to version 6.Architect and developer for the primary rules engine controlling the UOL product catalog.Guided and mentored more junior developers to ensure consistent implementation and quality code.Called by one company executive, “The quintessential pinch hitter.”

Responsible for managing software development, system administration and production support on all instances of the billing system (Portal Infranet 5.5.3, 6.0.1 and 6.2).Responsible for needs assessment, design, implementation, and testing; consistently met aggressive deadlines.Analyzed change impact for other systems dependent on billing system data and processes.Developed all Data Manager and policy code modifications, and new applications in Java, C and C++.Responsible for training new developers as they were added to the development group.

Managed the Order Entry Hub development group, consisting of three separate development teams with 41 contractors and employees in the United States and Mexico.Responsible for requirements gathering, testing, and configuration management for all phases of development for the Avantel long distance service order entry system capable of processing over 100,000 orders per day.Directed the design of the order entry software and interfaces with other Avantel software systems.Interviewed, hired, and supervised all staff and managed a $4 million budget.Recognized by Avantel with technical achievement award for processing performance of Order Entry Hub.
