I successfully completed the RN program at Loma Linda University in 2009 and went on to see over a decade of employment in home health care nursing, amassing tremendous experience in patient education on IV medication administration, wound care, peripheral IV access establishment and maintenance, as well as CVC care and management through employment with several home health care agencies and pharmacies. Over the last 6 years of that period, most of my time was spent with patients in need of in-home IVIg administration, as well as administration of other biologics, such as Rituxan. In February of 2020, I went on to gainful employment as a Peritoneal Dialysis RN, during which time I educated patients on managing their diagnosis of chronic renal failure through proper dieting, as well as continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), and continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis. Since then, I have participated in our nationwide COVID-19 vaccination project as a RN Vaccinator and spent a year as an Infusion RN with Option Care Health. As of January 2021, not only have I completed training as an ICU nurse but have also been employed in that position to date caring for post CABG patients, managing patients on IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), caring for patients on ventilators, in addition to critical care patients with a host of other diagnoses, such as sepsis, DKA, GI bleed, as well as shocks of various origins.With regards to my nursing philosophy, our patients are the single most important factor in the care we generate. Everything we do must always be patient-centered and the evidence-based. Our responsibility as nurses is such that we must constantly invite the use of any new information and intervention that has demonstrated improvement in patient outcome, but the success of our actions is optimal health for our patients.
