I am a Second-Year Accounting major at the University of Florida's Fisher School of Accounting. I am also in the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business. I have gradually developed a passion for accounting as I grew up loving Math and Science related subjects in both middle and high school. Since then, I have fostered a further interest in documenting the financial records of large corporations. During my time in high school outside of taking rigorous coursework, I was given the opportunity to serve my community weekly at The Salvation Army Food Pantry in south Dallas. I was also apart of Jesuit Dallas's most intensive service organization, "Ignatian Service Corps" which taught me many valuable lessons when bonding with the unfortunate. I participated in the Spanish Honor Society and served as a student ambassador for my high school, giving campus tours and representing the school's renowned values. Outside of my extracurricular involvements, I worked as a Mathematics Tutor at one of Dallas's most highly rated tutoring companies, Mathnasium. As a tutor, I helped students of various ages and levels improve their math skills and confidence. I was able to apply my own knowledge of Mathematics to create personalized and engaged learning plans for each student. This work experience not only brought me outside of my comfort zone, but also significantly improved my communication, feedback, and motivational skills. I enjoyed working with a diverse and supportive team of tutors who are all destined for great job opportunities and who shared my passion for student success. I hope to have a team like this in my future workplace whom I can work with to achieve my goals. Additionally, I will continue to develop my competencies in mathematics and tutoring. One day, I hope to translate my skills in tutoring towards my own business in which college students could receive assistance in courses such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, and auditing.
