Unanimously appointed as Mayor Pro Tem by other members of Boone's Town Council. Currently serving as the youngest person to hold that title in the Town's history.In this role, I've facilitated and led several Council meetings and worked hard to continue pushing for policy benefitting the renters and working people of Boone.

Received a unanimous appointment to Boone's Town Council in August of 2021, making me the then youngest elected official in North Carolina. Ran on a platform of housing reform and aid, sustainability, and equity, and was elected in November of 2021. Since then, we've made Boone the first town in NC to have carbon neutral operations, expanded protections for renters, passed a Non-Discrimination Ordinance, and so much more! Excited to be one of the youngest voices in North Carolina leading the way.

Founded and lead a lobbying group working for the rectification of predatory housing practices and tenant friendly laws. My group has had significant success, with some of the major highlights being listed below,- Worked closely with Boone Town Council to secure the passage of multiple resolutions related to housing, evictions, and predatory practice.-Provide and guide struggling tenants through the complicated legal lens and connect them with proper consul.- Elicited a response from North Carolina's Attorney General.- Provide original research dealing with issues related to housing and connect with and encourage local governments to take measures to mitigate predatory housing practices.

During my tenure as the Director of Canvassing Operations, I organized large canvasses and trainings, averaging 20 volunteers an outing. In a single campaign cycle, we knocked on thousands of doors, knocking on every door of every student apartment complex in the town of Boone, encouraging youth turnout. When we were not speaking to students about issues and pushing them to vote. we targeted rural voters and built connections with voters often forgotten by campaigns.A few of my biggest accomplishments in the role:Hosted the largest canvass in western North Carolina, training and preparing over 100 people for a day of canvassing.Introduced the idea of a marketing campaign targeting possible voters through Spotify.Successfully implemented Mini-Van's use through the Watauga County Democratic Party.Elected Democrats at every point on the ballot in 2018.Registered over 3000 young voters in a Municipal Election.

Organized, lobbied, and engaged the community related to voting rights in the High Country. Worked alongside State Representatives, University Administrations, Community Groups, and Board of Elections offices to protect access to voting. In 2020 the group was responsible for safeguarding the most used voting site in Watauga County, amid strong voter suppression movements. Garnering the support of thousands across the state.

Worked closely with the director of the Canvassing department to poll and survey moderate voters throughout the county. We focused on GOTV efforts with young voters that led to record youth turnout in the municipal election of that year.
