I typically act as the manager for various events pertaining to the card game Magic: the Gathering. In addition, I resolve issues participants may have concerning rules or tournament procedure. Doing this requires a sense of tact and attention to detail, as well as proficiency in various computer programs. In addition, one does not make it in this line of work without picking up administrative skills; someone in this position is typically running the show, after all.My most significant accomplishments have come from the long events where I may be on my feet and working for approximately twelve hours. In addition to the sheer attention to detail that this field required, I made sure to stay aware of deadlines and client preferences; no client wants to wait for weeks while they're paying hard-earned money.My most significant accomplishment to date was helping a game developer from California tidy up an app that he was developing for debt management, called Pay it Back, Sam! By using careful word choices and observation of the flow of each piece, I achieved the self-claimed hokeyness and Americana theme that the client wanted.
