I was shivering on a snowy December Colorado day, at the base of the Rocky Mountains, training for the ultimate test of a Soldier. With only a few months left in the army, I ran headlong into the Expert Soldier challenge. Not for promotion or additional pay but to challenge myself to the most rigorous test of individual warrior skills. On the weekend, I challenge myself by climbing Colorado’s 14ers (mountains over 14,000 feet). I am passionate about chasing difficult tasks that others do not find worth attempting. I raised my right hand to defend the Constitution and the people of the United States. Winning is the only option.Now, I am chasing a new challenge, law school. The skills required to keep walking on a twelve-mile ruck march are the same skills necessary to persist through hundreds of pages of active reading. I seek to find solutions to complex problems to continue winning. I am excited to continue rigorous training in the legal field. In my free time I enjoy hiking, skiing, traveling, bouldering, and exploring new cuisines.
