A career timeline built from the work history available for this profile.
Validation Engineer
In this role I was an active member in the approach to validating equipment, processes, and analytical methods used in manufacturing. I took part in the validation of equipment and machinery involved in the production of radiopharmaceutical products, including ensuring equipment functions correctly, consistently, and within specified parameters. I created and executed protocols for process validation, including verifying that processes are robust, reproducible, and meet quality standards. I was also responsible for validating analytical methods used for quality control and release testing of products, ensuring that these methods are accurate and reliable. Beyond these, I practiced skills of document management, increasing cross functional team collaboration, and ensuring that manufacturing processes adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines set by various regulatory agencies.
Process Engineer
In this position, I acted as a subject matter expert supporting multiple commercial production lines, investigations, and continuous improvements. Beyond that, I coordinated and executed technology transfer projects in support of new commercial technology while being the main technical interface with external/internal clients. In this role, I also modified and developed engineering drawings and standard operating procedures for equipment and processes. I also reviewed, summarized, and presented data to management and clients for approval. I also had manufacturing experience in this role including the performance of unit operations for clinical drug lines and completed tasks regularly regarding sterility assurance in the manufacturing space.
Design Engineer
For this position, I took on a full entrepreneurial role. A team of myself, and two other partners developed, modeled, and optimized the production process of a new mead (honey wine) product. In this role I deeply familiarized myself with industrial processes of batch mixing, fluid pumping and transport, ethanol fermentation, biofiltration, storage and packaging. Beyond the science and engineering of developing the recipe of the mead and taking that recipe to a scaled up model of a meadery, the team also focused on business optimization and created and modeled a successful business pitch that should financially break even around one year into production.
Igem Team Member
In this role, I played a part in three different teams of our overall iGEM team. Initially, in the science team, I played a role in the discussion of the scientific papers that we were basing our project on this summer and discussing potential methods of making this chip we were developing work. I then was a part of the modeling team, in this role I discussed with the team and leading professionals in the field of microfluidics and fluid modeling the logistics of the size, power, and other key elements of the chip. Lastly, I worked with the Human Resources side of things, in this competition part of the goal was education and sharing knowledge a much as it is innovation and development. This was the key goal of human resources, I formed a connection between our team and two local classrooms to integrate our knowledge-sharing portion of the project into a high school biology setting. I also assisted in the development of the educational and promotional videos through script writing and voice recording.
Research Assistant
In this role, I initially was working in a biotechnology wet lab. In this lab, we sampled, isolated, concentrated, and characterized the genome of bacteriophages we discovered from local soil. In 2020 however, I was moved into another lab and was responsible for concentrating other students' bacteriophage samples. We were then to move on to attempting to find bacteriophages that may infect the new bacteria strand that we were hoping to reshape the lab class that ran adjacent to our research. However, with the presence of COVID-19, this was cut short and in the later months of the semester, we turned toward a research review project.
Retail Cashier
In this role, I was often the sole individual in charge of the electronics and/or gardening section at the store. I had varying responsibilities that I was often in charge of pacing myself for which included basic maintenance of the department I was working in. This included more simplistic tasks like restocking shelves, filling photo orders, watering plants, and ranged upwards of higher responsibilities like answering questions to problems customers were facing and guiding customers through problems and challenges they were facing using my knowledge and what we could sell them to assist in the solution.
