Profile bio

About Dalton Yoder

My life has three foundations: faith, family, and football. Faith gives me inspiration and strength, my family grounds and supports me, and football has been my drive and passion forever. The game has taught me so much throughout my life. It has shown me how to take responsibility and what is needed to be successful. My goal in life is to become a great football coach. I want to lead young men into battle and win multiple championships. The wins will come, and they will be fun, but the most fulfilling thing as a coach is giving young men the tools needed to succeed. Regarding my experience in football, I played in College at the University of Jamestown in North Dakota. After leaving there, I had the opportunity to start coaching at my alma mater, ThunderRidge High school in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. This is where I gained my passion for coaching. I was able to be the head JV O-line Coach and run the system we had in place how I saw fit. When it comes to Offensive Line and coaching, I like to look at Coach Moore at the University of Michigan, who has six lessons learned by playing offensive line. Those are as follows:1. You don’t need a pat on the back, or a thank you for a job well done.2. Your role is a single piece of a much bigger unit.3. Mistakes are inevitable, it’s how you respond to them in the moments that follow thattruly matter.4. You learn to love and embrace the work that others don’t necessarily enjoy.5. You learn to adjust quickly and immediately apply feedback to the current situation.6. Internally, you take a tremendous amount of pride in what you do.
