I am an experienced Ocean Rescue Lifeguard with a demonstrated history of working in the government administration industry. Skilled in Microsoft Word, Teamwork, Leadership, Microsoft Excel, and Social Media. Strong community and social services professional graduated from Daytona State College. As you can see on my resume, I have spent many years working for Volusia County Beach Safety as an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard as well as working for the YMCA as a camp counselor. During my time as an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard, I have developed keen observational skills and critical thinking skills as I must oversee hundreds of people at any given time and be able to make life or death decisions at a moment’s notice. In my many years as a camp counselor, I was required to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills as I was a role model figure for the kids that I worked with, as well as organizing, and planning skills to assure that camp activities ran smoothly and safely. I thrive while working with others and enjoy the feeling of being a part of a team, however, I am able to just as easily stay self-motivated and proficient while working alone. I am able to quickly adapt to a changing field as well as possessing keen decision-making skills, and the ability to work under pressure when and if it is ever necessary. As I am ending the final years in my studies at the University of Central Florida, I hope to one day take all that I have learned in school as well as my professional work experience to go into Federal Law Enforcement. I feel as though this profession is best suited for me because of my strong passion to serve my community and my country, as well as having strong morals and the desire to always do what is right. Outside of my professional work and school life, I have a passion for surfing, going to the gym, and spending time with my family and friends. I have been surfing since I was three years old, and have traveled to Nicaragua three times now in pursuit of that passion. While in Nicaragua, my family and I enjoy bringing water filtration systems to the people in the community that we stay in, in hopes of giving back to the place that we love so much.
