I lead an amazing team of GeoAI research professionals working on machine learning for high-performance computing, privacy methods, computer vision, probabilistic reasoning, explainable AI, natural language processing, and spatio-temporal analytics. Through my leadership, the group strategically advances science and technology while fostering creativity and exploration of forefront humanitarian challenges with geospatial big data. I implement the group’s scientific vision; develop group members to enable their career advancement. I also establish capabilities that allow several sponsor programs to excel at the forefront of science and technology.

I lead research and implement tools that enable artificial intelligence for geographic knowledge discovery in support of US Federal mission partners. My responsibilities include strategic planning and advising leadership on new GeoAI research directions, scientific proposal writing, direct research efforts, and implementing core machine learning algorithms for proofs of concepts and deployment. I have established, developed, and maintained a strong collaborative network with academic and industry partners. I mentor graduate interns, postdocs, junior scientists and actively participate in recruitment processes. I am a lead author and co-author on multiple publications involving multidisciplinary teams across ORNL.
