Dalton Lloyd Richards Jr. is a Professional Wellness Coach, Mental Health Counselor, and Founder & Curator of the multi-faceted program and publication series, The Evolution Project. Informing his work is his academic tenure at Mercy College studying Psychology, and Master level clinical training as a Mental Health & Wellness Counselor at New York University. Dalton's educational and professional endeavors have allowed him to be a conduit of healing, by encouraging a community of Black, Indigenous, (and) People of Color (BIPOC), Immigrants (and those of immigrant descent) to share and reshape their narrative to edify and achieve optimal living.Dalton's approach to effective coaching, therapeutic healing, and continued wellness is influenced by myriad empirical modules. They include Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Christian Faith-Based Therapy. His therapeutic orientation is integrated and is often solution-focused, particularly when working with Couples. Dalton has utilized these theoretical approaches in his professional experience in hospital settings (group and one-on-one) with populations including clients navigating life transitions (academic, vocational, or marital); sexual, racial, and communal trauma; as well as clients managing dual-diagnosis such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar (I & II) Disorder, First Episode Psychosis, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and General Anxiety Disorder.Dalton has worked with various demographics, but specializes with identifying BIPOC individuals, disadvantaged and at-risk adolescents, as well as young adults in Leadership roles. Dalton also continues to work alongside religious sectors to further bridge the gap between Christian spirituality and Psychology, achieving this by creating therapeutic groups for youths experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress. These passion projects are ethically explored, as Dalton uses his strengths and skills in conducting detailed psychosocial intake assessments as well as risk evaluations and implementing crisis interventions.
