I am a MHSW, AMHP and BIA registered with Social Work England. I am a research practitioner, practice educator and AMHP assessor. I am also an independent consultant providing training and project leadership for MHSW change and transformation projects. I am experienced at completing reviews and scoping exercises related to workforce planning. My world combines both a practice and academic interface and I have experience of leading programmes in social work at undergraduate and post graduate level. I have just completed a doctorate which looked at developing strategies for frontline practitioners on the front line to deliver the policy aspirations of Social Work for Better Mental Health (SWfBMH, 2016) (and) NHS Health Education England Guidance to Trusts and Systems Leaders. The research looked at the professional development of Mental Health Social Work in both Local Authority settings and NHS Trusts. The research focussed on making things work in terms of integration between health and social care, as opposed to living with and repeating difficulties.
