Jessica Daly is a Grant Writer and Communications Manager at Homebase / The Center for Common Concerns. Jessica immediately distinguished herself as an exceptional intern, and within 3 years advanced in the organization to become an important part of the CONNECTIONS administrative team. Jessica has served as the Community Partnership Coordinator for the program from January 2012 to the August 2014. During that time, Jessica brought her impressive writing skills, focus, and creative thinking to her position with the program. Over the course of her time with CONNECTIONS, Jessica coordinated partnerships with several local colleges, universities, and businesses. She worked with college staff and student fellows to recruit over 100 college interns each year to tutor and mentor students in the program. She facilitated several orientations and trainings for new and returning interns each year. She forged significant relationships with local businesses, community members, and key champions of CONNECTIONS’ work. Our program serves a very high number of students who speak English as a second language, who struggle in school, and whose lives are touched by poverty. Despite these difficult circumstances and the challenges that arise as a result, Jessica is adaptable and able to solve problems and keep a level head, even in difficult situations. Jessica’s curious and driven nature has inspired her to seek creative and innovative ideas and initiatives for the program. Jessica goes above and beyond to gain knowledge and information related to her work and the issues that pertain to it. She attended several workshops and professional development conferences, and implemented initiatives based on these trainings in our school year and summer programs. Jessica is exceptionally talented, easy to work with, dedicated, and hardworking. She would be an asset to any team she joins and any project she undertakes.
