Shadowed within the Medical Telemetry Department at Northside Hospital to gain a better understanding of the healthcare environment within a hospital. I was able to obtain 104 hours of clinical experience and 136 hours of in-classroom education on how to provide exceptional patient care.

Research student under the mentorship of Dr. Christopher J. EhlenFocused on the circadian rhythm and conducted sleep scoring on mice to determine how disruptions of their sleep cycle affect their histone acetylationObserved how the intraperitoneal injection of ACSS2 Inhibitor ( acetyl-coA Synthetase Short Chain family member 2) disrupted the sleep cycle of mice through EEG sleep wave readings. Properly handled mice by following NIH regulations, conducted cage changes and cleanliness. Shadowed the lab technician on site and learned how to conduct mice perfusions, cerebral extractions,immunohistochemistry and cerebral sectioning. I presented what I learned at the Annual STEM Scholars Convention at Agnes Scott College in September 2023.
