I am a business owner and entrepreneur!I have grown up with the satisfaction of knowing what the difference is between prioritizing needs over wants. While working at my family's business I gave up my weekend to help my father out and save him money. Going through college at the University of North Texas, I witnessed those around me who had the pleasure of having a weekend to go out at night or to study for an extra few days before an exam. I prioritized my family business knowing it would affect my focus in college, but over the past 5 years working there, I have learned you have to put yourself in a position of great responsibility in order to dramatically shift your awareness of what to prioritize in life.I adapted to not having a weekend to study for exams in college by recording lectures and listening to the recording after each lecture. I stopped wasting much of my time during weekdays to focus on school and still be able to balance out helping my father on the weekends. I shifted my focus from desires to responsibilities to help me understand what growing up fundamentally means. My awareness and dedication to a responsibility being given to me and childhood desires, have vastly played a part in my journey. I plan to employ the same skills I have learned over the years of balancing a family business and college to help me with my future endeavors.
