As treasurer and board member of the all-volunteer Spanish Immersion Parent's Association of Palo Alto, I played a leadership role in this community of a few hundred parents and their children for several years. My main accomplishment as treasurer was to merge the finances and fundraising activities with the PTA, providing greater financial stability and more integration with other parent communities at Escondido Elementary School.
