Country Support Manager, Laboratory Services Team, Mdr-Tb Program
Global
The Country Support Manager is responsible for providing managerial, programmatic and technical support to 8 CHAI country teams to successfully deliver the objectives of the CHAI Multiple Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) program. The program seeks to harness market forces to reduce the price of MDR-TB treatment and diagnosis. To harness the market forces, the program pursues three work streams: In-country engagement, supply-side (manufacturing) engagements and new product uptake and roll-out in an effort to reduce risk premiums, increase competition and reduce the costs of sub-scale manufacturing. This will be achieved by developing solutions to issues in the global and national MDR-TB financing, procurement and supply chain management processes that are obscuring market information, resulting in stock mis-management and generally prohibiting the scale-up of treatment. It is a highly autonomous role the requires critical analysis of the underlying issues, innovative problem solving and sensitive relationship development to see the interventions succeed. Application of a broad knowledge base including market, business and governance acumen and an understanding of the programmatic TB and MDR-TB diagnosis and treatment strategies is critical to success.
