About Damien Bosc
► I am an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry (MCU-HDR) at the Pharmacy School of Lille (University of Lille). I am teaching drug discovery from the 2nd year to the 5th year of Pharmacy studies and also in Master 1&2.► I obtained a PhD in organic and medicinal chemistry (University of Paris Sud – ICSN, CNRS), and I am also a chemist engineer (INP-Toulouse, ENSIACET), with a Master 2 of Chemistry for the Living Systems (University of Toulouse). I have done my postdoctoral experiences in U1177 (INSERM, Institut Pasteur de Lille, University of Lille), at the Simon Fraser University (Vancouver) and as a junior assistant professor in UMR7200 (University of Strasbourg, CNRS).► My research projects are focused on drug discovery and chemical biology. During my several experiences, I have designed and synthesized modulators of metalloenzymes, of a cysteine protease and of a chemokine/receptor interaction.► I am specialized in organic and medicinal chemistry with the design of bioactive molecules and the use of kinetic target guided synthesis for drug discovery but also in biochemistry with enzyme assays by fluorescence and mass spectrometry, and binding constant determinations by calorimetry (ITC) and thermophoresis (MST). ► My research topics in U1177 are now focused on the development of new tools and chemical probes to understand protein interactions and mechanisms of action, and drug discovery. My interests include macrocycles, small molecules, proteases, kinetic target guided synthesis and medicinal chemistry.
