- Responsible for managing the resources of the Southern Africa Territory both labor and assets to maximize utilization and efficiency- Liaison with the Boart Longyear Sales Team and Drilling Services operations managers to define maintenance priorities- Accountable for the quotation, cost and timetable for agreed and planned maintenance forboth internal and external customers- Responsible for the growth and development for the aftermarket offering / P&L for theterritory- Liaison’s with the regional demand planner to ensure a proper spare parts stocking strategy isin place to support the services operations- Manages the cost, recovery and margin of the services operations- Ensured training, resources, and strategies are in place to provide a safe and compliant workingenvironment for employees- Set the agenda and direction for the territory by communicating the business purpose, objectives, initiatives, values, and policies. Foster and develop the corporate culture within the territory and encourage open dialogue. Relay field input to executive management- Balance competing & conflicting requirements consistent with Company values,policies & business principles- Understand customers’ strategies, needs, value chains, & major markets served. - Coordinate Field Service teams for the repairs and commissioning of Boart Longyear branded Drilling Rigs and equipment throughout the Asia Pacific region.- Coordinating workshop repairs, factory refurbishment and manufacturing of new equipment including manufacturing overflow of LM Drills.- Manage Research and Development projects with staff and training requirements. Projects included LM series PWM Rod Handler LM series electronic Drill Control Interface (DCi) including being involved at design stage and at factory testing stage LM series LM110 prototype Prototype ‘Shack Rig’ Initial field testing of the LX11 Drill Rig- Liaise with Engineering teams and vendors to create spare parts and introduce into the parts system.- Liaising with Engineering teams for creation of Service and Safety Alerts pertaining to the Boart Longyear product.- Manage customer complaints and warranty issues and liaise with the global quality teams.- Continued Field Service, Technical support and Training duties as required in a Service Representative role
