• Monitor the salaries and supplies budget for Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai St. Lukes, Mount Sinai West and New York Eye & Ear Infirmary.• Answer inquiries from leadership (such as Senior VP's, Department Managers & Directors) regarding employee salaries, department budgets, and other budget or accounting activities within their facilities.• Perform Position Control duties in which I carefully review all requisitions to create a new position, refill an existing position, or change a position and making sure that all requisitions are within budget so that the Position Control Board can approve or deny based on our review.• Process “Other Than Personal Expense” forms submitted by senior leadership in which I create journal entries to properly debit and credit expenses to the department and send to Accounting for processing.• Complete monthly closing reports such as department clean-up (identifying expenses posted to non-budgeted departments and transfer them to the correct budgeted department through research and communication with budget managers), FTE reports (Full Time Employee reports where senior leaders are shown Base Pay, Straight Time Overtime and Premium Overtime impacting their budget on a year to date basis) and Supply Chain Initiative (reports showing how all facilities within the system can be more efficient when it comes to cost savings and ensure the smooth functioning of the hospital’s supply chain system) by closing deadline so that senior leadership can review and make effective business decisions to ensure success of their departments.• Prepare yearly budgets for all facilities by processing Additional Salary and Supplies forms, Target Adjustment forms and help teach department leaders how to effectively use EPSi (budgeting system used to monitor the budget of departments on a monthly and year to date basis). In addition, I assign pay types and open sub accounts related to supplies for departments to ensure proper budgeting.

• Monitor high dollar medical claims for payments by insurance companies and ensure claim edits and account receivables are resolved in a timely manner.• Respond to patient and third party inquires; research and resolve problems, correct errors and forward most complex issues to my supervisor for further review on the issue.• Review correspondence and rejection data from insurance carriers and take appropriate action to overturn the claim denial so payments can be issued.
