I have specialised in pensions law since 2006. I advise pension scheme trustees, employers and pension providers on a wide range of pensions law issues, including: - changes to and closures of defined benefit pension schemes;- arrangements for managing the liabilities of defined benefit pension schemes;- the pensions aspects of corporate reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals;- drafting pension scheme documentation, including definitive trust deeds and rules, deeds of amendment, scheme booklets and member announcements;- pensions aspects of public sector outsourcings, where transferring employees are members of public sector pension schemes.I specialise in self-invested personal pension schemes (SIPPs) and small self-administered schemes (SSASs). I advise providers, trustees and scheme administrators on HMRC pensions tax, pensions law and regulatory compliance. I draft scheme documentation to establish and govern SIPPs and SSASs.I have expertise in relation to pension investments, including advising on fiduciary management agreements and custody agreements.I act for clients in the social housing sector and advise on pension issues where social housing providers merge.
