I’m a Junior Software Engineering student at MSOE with numerous diverse, hands-on, team-based project experiences. I have an extensive leadership background through my participation in campus organizations. I hold two executive board positions and I devote six hours to these clubs each week in addition to my full academic schedule. I am a proud member of MSOE’s Honors Program. Skills in MERN, Software Verification, and Agile Development. I am looking for a Software Engineering internship starting in June of 2023. Please contact me at damien.r.allison@gmail.com or (262) 689-0737.My interest in programming first started in seventh grade when I had written my first static webpage under the guidance of my English teacher. It blossomed into a hobby once I took my first programming course in Java. It became cemented as my career path during my senior year when I took AP Computer Science. There, I had such passion for the topic that I read the entire textbook in a single weekend.I discovered MSOE in my senior year of high school. It had so many things I was looking for – labs/hands-on experiences in the curriculum, and small class sizes to really get to know my peers and professors. The students I spoke with told me that even though it’s a really tough school, it is definitely worth the effort. Since then, I have been able to apply Software Engineering principles through various team-based projects. I worked with MSOE’s Honors Program to create a website for a community partner. This project allowed me to talk with the product owner to find what they needed and then create user stories from them. My team wrote the foundation of the website so that other students could populate it with articles. Another project I enjoyed was working in a team to create a mock Wordle game. We were able to apply Agile principles which allowed us to rapidly complete a lot of functionality. I was also the lead tester. I applied software verification principles such as input domain analysis and control flow graphs to root out any potential bugs.I am the proud leader of both my Bible study as well as the Billiards Club on campus. As an executive board member of my Bible study, I am able to create opportunities for people, regardless of their religion, to have conversations with each other. As vice president of the Billiards Club, I am able to teach others about something I enjoy doing in my free time. These two experiences have allowed me to develop strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
