About Damien Roberts

Leading a national education charity for Vietnam's most disadvantaged children and young people, with a special focus on transforming the lives and prospects of ethnic minority groups, girls and those with special needs, particularly autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. By helping children to overcome all barriers to education we bring economic development to vulnerable individuals, families and communities. We build rural schools (averaging one every five weeks), provide thousands of academic and vocational training scholarships every year.I previously worked for the UK government, responsible for regional strategy, business improvement and managing operations for 120+ staff across ten SE Asian countries, including outsourced delivery through corporate partners.I have a broad background in graduate and postgraduate teaching, research and analysis, company startup & spin-out, and international operations management and marketing.I grew up working for a small family business and after a period in the private sector worked in business development and research roles for several of the UK's top investment promotion agencies, always exceeding targets and securing year-on-year-growth through a mix of strategic business development, account management, and effective evaluation and analysis of industry opportunities. I'm passionate about my roles and always eager to innovate, finding better ways to achieve even more while still enjoying the work.
