▪ Training and operating all stations on the slitter.▪ Point of contact and/or communicator for incoming deliveries, taking material width and gauge measurements, performing visual safety checks, and reading production documents identifying product.▪ Maintains production in each area, safely, by ensuring data is accurately entered into inventory processing systems and product is issued with proper identification.▪ Monitoring daily operations in the work area, ensuring quality of master & slit coils, executing proper mic measurements and monitoring▪ Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.

▪ Inspects locomotive for operational readiness by making FRA and Company required checks and tests.▪ Receives train consist which provides the physical make-up of train and includes weights, lengths, location of loads and empties, and cars requiring special handling.▪ Confer with conductors or traffic control center personnel via radiophones to issue and receive information concerning stops, delays, or oncoming trains.▪ Inspect locomotives to verify adequate fuel, sand, water, and other supplies before each run, and to check for mechanical problems.▪ Interpret train orders, signals, and railroad rules and regulations that govern the operation of locomotives and understand the rules of the FRA.▪ Monitor gauges and meters that measure speed, amperage, battery charge, and air pressure in brake lines and in main reservoirs.▪ Observe tracks to detect obstructions and call out train signals to conductors to verify meanings.
